Operation Coming Home Presents Keys to 23rd Hero Home; National News Spotlights Organization

Operation Coming Home (OCH), a joint project of the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County and the US Veterans Corps, presented the keys to its 23rd "Hero Home" in July in Garner, NC. US Marine Corps SSGT Matthew Polizzi and his family received the keys to the new home, which was built by Mattamy Homes.

Thanks to the generosity of numerous builders, subcontractors and other local businesses, OCH is able to give away homes to severely wounded veterans who served in Iraq or Afghanistan and to families of the fallen. Polizzi served for 14 years and was deployed four times, receiving a Purple Heart from an injury he sustained in Afghanistan.

OCH and the Polizzi family received national media attention following the key ceremony. ABC's "World News Tonight" broadcast covered OCH’s work and told Polizzi’s courageous story to a national audience.
