The North Carolina Home Builders Educational and Charitable Foundation recently awarded scholarships to two students who are pursuing degrees in a construction-related field. These students are immediate family members of an NCHBA member and represent the future of the home building industry.
Powell Braddock –Powell has declared a major in Textile Engineering at North Carolina State University. She is the daughter of Betsy Braddock, who is a member of the Brunswick County HBA. She was awarded a $2,500 scholarship plus a $500 scholarship from the NC Professional Women in Building.
Brandon Nichols –Brandon has declared a major in Applied Engineering at Wilkes Community College. He is the son of Elaine Nichols, who is a member of the Ashe Alleghany HBA. He received a $2,000 scholarship plus a $500 scholarship from the Sean Sullivan Tradesperson Scholarship Fund.
NCHBA wishes to congratulate the following 2021-2022 scholarship recipients:

To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must be nominated by an NCHBA member firm; be an immediate family member, related by blood (i. e. children, step-children or grandchildren), of an NCHBA member; and be a full-time student taking a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. Awards are for one year, but scholarship winners may submit a renewal application and be considered for renewal if they make satisfactory progress in their studies.
