Moreover, I’m proud to report that NCHBA remains in a strong financial position and has adapted swiftly to a new normal. We haven’t held any in-person events since our 1st Quarter Meeting, however, we have held an abundance of virtual town halls, virtual quarterly meetings, and even virtual North Carolina Builder Institute classes!
Although virtual events can never replace the valuable connections and conversations made possible by attending an event in person, I do believe that these virtual events have been a bridge to some of our members who do not have time to travel to an event in another part of the state. The NCHBA staff is to be applauded for their tremendous efforts to make these virtual events possible. Thank you!
I want to end with a brief reminder –if, like me, you are the qualifier for a general contractor’s license in North Carolina, you need to complete your required 8 hours of continuing education by November 30 of this year. Our educational arm, the North Carolina Builder Institute, has worked hard to make many classes available. Most of these classes can be taken virtually from anywhere with a computer, webcam, microphone and strong internet connection. NCBI also offers a limited number of in-person classes. Don’t wait until the last minute –go ahead and register now at www.ncbuilderinstitute.comand click on “Upcoming Classes” on the main menu at the top.
I certainly hope that we’ll be together again soon. Until then, let’s finish this year strong and keep building the American Dream for North Carolina families.
