Builders Classic Golf Tournament Brings Together NCHBA Members To Support Scholarships

The Dominion Energy team won first place at the 2019 Builders Classic Golf Tournament.

More than 120 golfers hit the links at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh in April for the 17th annual Builders Classic Golf Tournament. The event brought together builder, associate and affiliate members to raise more than $13,000 to benefit scholarships for two-and four-year college students who are immediate family members of an NCHBA member.

This year, the Dominion Energy team of Shawn Watkins, Jeff Prim, Greg Dunphy and Terry Hahn took home first place. Second place went to the Bureau Building & Landscape team of Daniel Bureau, Brandon Bureau, Jack Keefe and J. B. Brewer

Daniel Bureau also took home the Presidents Cup, which is awarded to the top-scoring team with a local, state or national president (current or past). Bureau is a past president of the Moore County Home Builders Association.

Other winners included: Closest to the Pin Winners -Hole #6 Dale Norville, Hole #8 Jack Keefe, Hole #14 Joe Stallings. Longest Drive Winner -David Hughes

Since 2002, NCHBA members and their guests have participated in the Builder Classic Golf Tournament to raise more than $150,000 to provide scholarships to more than 60 deserving college students majoring in a construction-related field.
