Past NCHBA President John T. Bell Passes Away

NCHBA’s 11th president, JohnT. Bell, of Goldsboro, passed away on November 4, 2016. “John remained an active member of his local association and NCHBA throughout his long career,” said Mike Carpenter, NCHBA Executive Vice President. John was a leader in this association and he will certainly be missed.”

Bell co-foundedThompson Bell Realty in 1959 with a childhood friend. Until his death, he remained the head of the company, which later became John T. Bell Realty, Inc.

In 57 years of business, Bell was responsible for the development and construction of hundreds of single-family homes, apartments, townhouses, condominiums and commercial properties. Bell was a founding member of the Goldsboro Home Builders Association. He was also a past president of the Goldsboro Association of Realtors. An affordable housing advocate, Bell served on the board of the NC Housing Finance Agency.
